During your Seaplane flight to Fort Jefferson
you will enjoy expert in-flight narration of the
most important sights between Key West and
the Dry Tortugas.
Once you arrive , you will have the opportunity to tour the historic Ft.Jefferson. Construction started in 1846 and continued for 30 years.
During the Civil War the Fort Jefferson was
used as a military prison and housed
conspirators in the Lincoln assassination. In
1908 the Dry Tortugas was designated a wild
life refuge.
To this day the island is home to
innumerable birds, fish, and other marine
wildlife.
There will be tours available from National
Park staff. The snorkeling is captivating and
the beaches are pristine and relaxing. Be
sure to visit the Dry Tortugas and Fort
Jefferson while in Key West.
